Bicycle tours in Koblenz

The Saar-Moselle-Main long-distance cycle route or D-Route 5 runs from Saarbrücken along the Saar, Moselle, Rhine and Main rivers to the Czech border.

The Rhine Cycle Route, or D-Route 8, runs along the Rhine on German territory from Lake Constance to the Dutch border.

The Mosel Cycle Path leads through 248 kilometres of diverse landscape; rambling and secluded in parts, pretty spectacular in others. 

The last section of the tour offers the opportunity to enjoy the typical Moselle landscape with its small villages.

Rhineland-Palatinate has a share of approx. 318 km on the left side of the Rhine between the border to France in the south and the border to North Rhine-Westphalia in the north and 75 km on the right side of the Rhine as one of the most important European long-distance cycle routes with a length of approx. 1,233 km. With no climbs, the Rhine Cycle Path runs mostly near the banks and almost always on its own paths. The route is signposted throughout with the EuroVelo 15 sign.

The Rhine Cycle Route along the Romantic Rhine stretches over 120 kilometres along both sides of the Rhine between Bingen/Rüdesheim and Remagen/Unkel. The cycle route runs along the banks of the Rhine without any gradients and almost continuously on separate paths. The unique cultural landscape with its vineyards, more than 60 castles and palaces and medieval towns along the route invite cyclists to a visit or a short break to enjoy the magnificent views.

Heute führte mich die Route EV15 durch eines der Highlights der ganzen Strecke vom Oberalppass nach Hoek van Holland. Die Passage durch den schmalen Durchbruch des Rheins, durch die Bergkette und an der Lorely vorbei, bis nach Konstanz war wirklich eine schöne Abwechslung.

Am Morgen zur 7. Etappe der EV15 von Basel nach Hoek van Holland war es echt kalt. Im Verlaufe des Tages fielen zusätzlich immer wieder einige Tropfen Eiswasser vom Himmel. Toll war es, dass es am späteren Nachmittag noch schöner wurde und sich Petrus doch noch von der besseren Seite zeigte.
