Unesco - Wolrd Heritage Site - the Roman "Limes"
Unseco - Worl Heritage Site - The Roman „Limes“The Roman Limes runs right through the middle of Bad Ems; with a total length of 550 km, it is the largest archaeological site in Germany. The Winterberg is home to the oldest reconstruction of a Limes tower in Germany (1874). In Pfahlgraben Street, near the spa district, you can see the reconstruction of palisades made of huge tree trunks, as in other places around Bad Ems. There are also remains of watchtowers there.
