Schloss Berleburg has an impressive fairytale ambience: Wonderful concerts, unique guided tours and the thought-provoking WeihnachtsZeitreise (Christmas journey through time) make this place something really special.
As an ancestral home, Schloss Berleburg is one of only a few royal seats in Germany that have been lived in by the same family for more than 750 years. And it is precisely this “lived-in” state that makes the atmosphere so special and invites you to visit. A guided tour, among other things, provides an insight into the banqueting halls, the grand hall, the chapel and the private quarters of the Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg family.

The journey through time runs from the splendid “Corps de Logis” to the social rooms and to the oldest part of the castle. There, visitors can learn about the long family history of the noble house and its connection to the region, and feel their commitment to land and people. The ambience of the castle offers a stylish setting for concerts by the Bad Berleburg cultural society. Advent and the Christmas period are impressively organised, particularly the special exhibition at the castle. Afterwards, you can enjoy a walk through the castle park.
