Wilhelm I was born here in 1533. In his honour the Dillenburgers built the Wilhelmsturm from 1872 to 1875. It houses the Orange-Nassau Museum, which is dedicated to the connection of the House of Nassau-Dillenburg with the Dutch royal house.
