The Iron Age homestead is a reconstruction of a traditional structure dating from 500 B.C., which was discovered in the 1980s during excavation works several hundred metres from its current location. The buildings, as well as the fields and gardens, were reconstructed with local materials in 2002 using traditional Iron Age methods. Other structures, e.g. a place of worship, are planned. The homestead is mainly used for the study of pre-Roman times and for seminars and events, such as the Iron Age craft market.
