Adolf Weiß Denkmal Greifenstein
The Adolf Weiß Monument was erected in 1939 by the Westerwald Association to the farmer and local poet Adolf Weiß from Mademühlen. In 1913, he created the Westerwalders' cry of recognition, which is still valid today: "Hui! Wäller?" - "Allemol!" In 1913, the Bonn chapter of the Westerwaldverein held a competition to find the future Westerwald greeting. From 60 entries, the winner was that of the local poet Adolf Weiß. If you want to visit the Adolf Weiß monument, it is best to park at the hikers' car park in Mademühler Weg (also called Alte Rheinstraße), which is also the R8 for cyclists. From there, head uphill to the windmills and turn left (Ulmtalradweg) to the monument.
