Epitome of German engineering art and at the same time one of the steepest of its kind worldwide
This mountain railway was opened in 1887 and managed on its way to the 334 metres high "Malberg" a difference in altitude of 260 meters on a distance of 520 metres. It was operated with water ballast. In 1979 the train was closed because of technical defects and two years later became an industrial monument.
