Das heutige Esche-Museum, deren gut erhaltene frühe Industriearchitektur den Besuch allein wert wäre, befindet sich in einer von Traugott Reinhold Esche 1854 gegründeten Strumpffabrik. Es ehrt auch seinen Vorfahren Johann Esche, der um 1700 einen Handwirkstuhl „nachbaute“ und seine Nachfolger, die in der Region diese neu eröffnete Erwerbsquelle umsichtig von der handwerklichen Heimarbeit bis zur industriellen Produktion weiterentwickelten.
