Touring Cycle Route Around Lake Sorpesee

The cycle tour starts at the Sorpedamm car park. From the lake stage, you first cycle over the dam of the Sorpe reservoir and enjoy the view of the lake during the crossing or left into the valley to the equalising reservoir and the power station. Once you reach the other bank, turn right and follow this path to the boat landing stage in Amecke. On the way, you will regularly have beautiful views of Lake Sorpe, you can visit the Kyrillwald forest and there is the opportunity to stop at one of the many dreamy bays and enjoy nature. Plenty of benches invite you to take a rest. However, there are no refreshment facilities on this side of the lake. When you reach the boat landing stage in Amecke, turn right and cross the bridge between the foreshore and the Sorpesee. At campsite 5, there is an opportunity to take a break and try out the Wasser- und Atemaktiv Airlebnisweg (water and breath active air adventure trail) around the pre-basin (completion autumn 2014). After the bridge, follow the cycle path along the L687 to Langscheid. Here you can then enjoy the beautifully designed Sorpesee - Promenade or drink something refreshing on one of the many terraces or taste the delicious regional cuisine.
