Turn-by-turn directions

Golling marketplace - continue down to the train station and to the Salzachbrücke (bridge) - after crossing the bridge turn right in the direction of the Golling waterfalls (rewarding detour at the Gasthof Torrener Hof [inn]) - past the Church of St. Nikolaus on small paths slightly up- and downhill to the Salzachbrücke (bridge) in Kuchl (alternative connection from Golling to Kuchl is the route on the right valley side from the Golling train station along the Roman road to Kuchl) - continue further on the left valley side across meadows adn through woods to teh south edge of the city Hallein - now again on the banks of the river Salzach - at the Griestorplatz turn left into the old town of Hallein - this signposted city passage leads to the Pfannhauserplatz (Celtic Museum, possibility to branch off to the tourist information at the Pernerinsel) -  the bike path begins soon after directly on the left bank of the river Salzach - now continue almost 6 km along the river to its confluence with the Königseeache into the river Salzach at the power station Urstein (possible up to here to have biked on the right bank of the river Salzach) - from here there are 3 possibilities: on the left or right bank of river Salzach directly into the old town of Salzburg, or after the motorway underpass turn left - past the Waldbad - to Anif (federal road junction) - in Anif turn onto the narrow path which leads to the Tiergarten Hellbrunn, into the Schlosspark and directly to the Schloss Hellbrunn - from here through the very long, shady Hellbrunner Allee on past several castles to the AKademiestrasse - on byways to the Nonntaler Brücke (bridge), where we reach the two other variants along the river Salzach - from here take the new bike lanes on either side of the river into the city centre of Salzburg (Staatsbrücke).
